The government of Pakistan is considering decreasing the working hours to save fuel usage and cost because of high fuel rates worldwide and the dollar’s rise to super-high levels.

Oil imports in Pakistan have emerged by 96% this year. According to an expert, this rise is because of greater fuel usage.

According to sources, the State Bank of Pakistan has made three different plans to save 1.5 to 2.7 Billion dollars.

The calculations told, for one working day,640 million dollars worth of fuel products were used. We can reduce a lot of money if we decrease working days.

In the first plan, 4 working days and 3 holidays are scheduled every week. In the second plan 4 working days, 2 holidays, and 1 lockdown day are considered. 4 working days, 1 holiday, and 2 lockdown days are included in the 3rd plan.

There is no official notice of 4 working days in a week or notification of 3 holidays in a week, but it is just thinking of government members.

While on the other hand, PM Shahbaz Sharif is interested in extending the workdays from 5 to 6 days a week but now electricity shortage and fuel usage make him rethink this decision.
